Televiewers – Enriched Understanding
Combining physical rock properties with Acoustic Televiewer (ATV) and/or Optical Televiewer (OTV) at this stage, or previously, provides significant advantage potential from the use of reverse circulation (RC) or rotary air blast drilling (RAB) drilling methods. DGI has proven that televiewers are viable with great results in non-cored boreholes. Televiewers provide oriented digital core with continuous high-resolution imaging of the entire borehole for visual inspection and correlation. The physical properties domains provide a predictive capability from non-visual components enabling corroborative identification of lithologies once definitive signatures are identified and trusted by the client. This methodology has the potential to maintain quality and accuracy of information while accelerating results with significant drilling time and cost savings – a win-win scenario.
