Quantifiable Data within the Geotechnical Framework

DGI has participated in numerous geotechnical projects and multi-purpose projects where Acoustic Televiewers (ATV) and/or Optical Televiewers (OTV) were surveyed in combination with physical properties. Oriented digital core and derivative borehole feature orientation such as fractures, faults, bedding, break-outs, foliation, vein intersections and lithology contacts have been crucial for geotechnical assessments.  The quantitative aspect of DGI acquired physical rock properties is also a key contributor to geotechnical understanding.

Relevant and Reliable

Since we acquire all the data in a continuous manner and in-situ under naturally occurring pressure, temperature and stress conditions, our clients are confident that regardless of the core recovery, the geotechnical understanding is relevant and reliable.

Applications

  • Geotechnical assessment and modeling
  • Structural geology for resource control, design, safety planning
  • Rock mechanics
  • Lithology mapping and modeling
  • Break-out analysis and stress field analysis potential

Types of Projects

  • Geotechnical/Environmental – nuclear waste repository; carbon sequestration studies
