Active Mining Projects
DGI has participated on active mine site projects including underground, in open pits, and on surface and with various objectives including monitoring, infrastructure support and near site exploration. Historically, these projects had specific purposes requiring our unique services in a customized manner. Some examples are:
- Pastefill and shotcrete line infrastructure surveying – monitoring and maintenance
- Environmental well baseline establishment and/or monitoring
- Near mine or in-mine exploration
- Safety and infrastructure surveys – mine shaft and vent pilots; geotechnical and structural (pit design); rock mechanics (safety)
- Physical rock properties constraints for airborne or surface geophysics survey
New Challenges and Opportunities
Moving forward, DGI is embarking on a new path with active mining. Our 2-4C process has the power to use any, and potentially all, quantitative information available to a mine. Workflow solutions relative to accuracy, time and efficiency are the main focus for leveraging the statistically robust and valid relationships between disparate information sources. Can a wealth of legacy information be leveraged by the 2-4C process to predict/model a measure such as mineral recovery quickly and accurately?
